Pettr - The Pet Affordability Survey

People who are on the market to adopt an animal are not always aware of the up-front and long-term costs of owning a pet, which may lead to the animal being neglected, or put up for re-adoption.

The purpose of this survey is to collect data around pet affordability, with a focus on the cost of ownership for cats and dogs. The data collected from this survey is used to populate information for the Pettr Calculator, an affordability tool that helps people understand the potential costs of owning a pet.

The goal of this project is not necessarily to dissuade people from adopting animals as pets, but rather, to make an informed decision prior to starting the adoption process.

The survey is organised in five sections, and looks at:
  1. Getting to know your family of pets
  2. Financial information
  3. Food Expenses
  4. Medical Expenses
  5. Miscellaneous Expenses
About the survey
